Alexandre Fonseca
Alexandre Fonseca is an attorney and independent legal researcher whose professional and intellectual work focuses particularly on Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, and the relationship between power, legal interpretation, and institutional limits.
His professional experience in law, combined with historical, constitutional, and institutional research, provides the foundation from which the Theory of Legal Narcissism has been developed.
Origins of the Research
The research that gave rise to Legal Narcissism begins with a fundamental question: how can law effectively constrain power when the interpretation of legal limits is itself exercised by authorities vested with power?
From this problem, the inquiry developed into an examination of the relationships among legal norms, interpretation, authority, legitimacy, and institutional structures designed to constrain power.
Development of the theory
The development of the theory involves interdisciplinary research into the historical formation of the Rule of Law, constitutionalism, separation of powers, legal hermeneutics, and institutional mechanisms for limiting authority.
The result is an original theoretical framework that seeks to systematize phenomena associated with the progressive centrality of interpretive authority in determining the meaning, scope, and limits of legal norms.
The Work
A pesquisa é apresentada na obra LEGAL NARCISISM, desenvolvida em diferentes formatos editoriais para permitir distintos níveis de aprofundamento: uma obra completa, uma versão sintética e uma edição de caráter ilustrativo.
The three editions form part of the same intellectual project and present, through different levels of depth and modes of presentation, the foundations and central concepts of the theory.
